Patients, politicians and health professionals will mark the 3rd Annual European Epilepsy Day (EED) on Monday, 11th February 2013.

“Stand up for Epilepsy: No Seizures, No Side Effects” is the powerful theme of the day organised by Epilepsy Advocacy Europe - the Joint Task Force of the International Bureau for Epilepsy (IBE) and the International League Against Epilepsy (ILAE), in association with European Advocates for Epilepsy special interest group of MEPs in the European Parliament.

With its strong message, this year’s initiative aims to raise awareness of the need to improve the treatment and care of the 6 million people living with epilepsy in Europe.

Underlining UCB’s support for European Epilepsy Day and its key objective, UCB has provided an educational grant to the organisers for the development of an awareness-raising pack to carry the message across Europe.

Among other activities Epilepsy Advocacy Europe will present a photography exhibition in the European Parliament, entitled Stand Up For Epilepsy, which will open on 19th February. The display includes 45 images including Olympic 100 metres champion Usain Bolt. Catch it if you can!
