UCB appoints Chief Financial Officer

Brussels, October 18th, 2004 - UCB announces the appointment of Luc Missorten as Chief Financial Officer of the Group.

Luc Missorten joined UCB in February 2004 as General Manager of UCB Pharma Spain in Barcelona. Prior to joining UCB, he was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Interbrew.

The nomination is taking effect as of November 1st, 2004. Luc Missorten will be reporting to Georges Jacobs, Chairman of the Executive Committee.
