UCB Community Health Fund - 1st call for projects

Through our first Call for Projects that closed end of September, we received 170 applications for Support projects and 43 applications for Research projects coming from 24 different countries. The independent selection committees reviewed
the submissions and chose the organizations which received funding.

The first Call for Projects was directed at initiatives aiming to understand and reduce the medium- and long-term impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the health of vulnerable young people (15-24 years old) in the communities where UCB operates. Concretely, we aimed to support programs and services with a focus on young people from the most vulnerable communities including racial and ethnic minorities, refugees and asylum seekers, those with disabilities and certain health conditions, and those who are socio-economically disadvantaged.

Following the World Health Organization, we adopted a holistic view of health, namely a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being. The fund supported existing and new support projects/initiatives and social science research.
