Care for the community

Besides offering a growing number of novel therapies, UCB and its employees support a broad spectrum of programmes that enable patients and their families to improve their lives. These programmes focus on our two core therapeutic areas: CNS and immunology.  We are also involved in wider humanitarian projects.

We support mentoring, scholarship and sponsorship programmes for people affected by severe diseases. Taking into account donations exceeding € 10 000, we spent in 2010 almost € 2 million on community sponsorships and charitable donations worldwide, excluding product donations and patient-assistance programmes. A Global Donation Policy describes UCB’s criteria for product donations, support to patient groups and other healthcare organisations. We also have a global community support database so that we can share information and best practice across the whole UCB organisation as well as provide accurate financial reporting.
